Shop Small This Christmas 🎅 Luneta’s Christmas Market dates and Last Shipping Dates info

It’s that time of the year again when everyone is rushing to buy gifts for their loved ones (or treats for themselves)! I’d love to see you in one of my Christmas markets if you’re in London for the next month, as I’m literally doing at least one day of Christmas markets per week between now and December 18th 😊

Christmas markets are an excellent opportunity to support small businesses, get a personalized customer experience and obviously, get a super special gift!

Why should we support small businesses?

As Amanda from The Clothershorse podcast says (my favourite podcast, excellent if you like politics, sustainability and fashion!), small business is the future. Huge companies will always prioritize profits over people (it’s all about generating value for shareholders), and because they’re so big, it’s hard for them to make changes towards being more sustainable and ethical. Amanda uses a great analogy: A small business changing is as easy as turning a bike; for a big company to change, it’s like trying to turn a cruise ship.

When you shop small, you’re supporting the businesses that are trying to be more ethical and sustainable and helping them grow (not to mention that you’ll be getting a unique and beautiful product). Why would you give your money to the huge and unethical businesses that aren’t even trying to do the right thing?? It’s only by not shopping from them that they’ll try to improve.

3 FREE ways to support small businesses

  1. Engage with us in social media

Liking and saving posts, leaving a nice comment, sharing small businesses’ posts on your stories - these are all free ways to help small businesses grow! When someone publishes a post, the amount of initial engagement it gets informs to how many more the algorithm should show the post to, so by engaging with a post you’re telling Instagram/TikTok “hey, this content is cool. Do show it to more people”.

  2. Recommend small businesses to your friends and family

Be an influencer within your own circle! Did you find out about a brand that your friend Katy would love? Do share it with them! Is your friend Brian into sustainable fashion? Why not tell them about Luneta and how we make all our jewellery with upcycled vintage beads 👀 Having your (yes, I’m talking to you!) seal of approval helps other people trust small brands too.

  3. Write reviews for items you’ve previously purchased

You know how you read all the Amazon reviews for a product before buying it? Most people expect all businesses to have this review feature too, but it just looks silly if there are only 2 reviews for someone’s whole website (yes, I’m talking about my own website 🤣). Obviously the small business owner will say their products are great, but having indifferent people confirming that is such a confidence and trust booster.

Thank you, as always, for supporting my small business ❤️ It really means the world to me and that meme that “everytime you buy something from a small business, they do a little dance” is totally true in my case!
