Frequently Asked Questions

1. Where is Luneta based?

Luneta is based in London, UK. You might notice an address in Poole for correspondence and returns, but that’s just a PO Box I rent to protect my home address, as I work from home :)

2. Do you ship internationally?

Yes! These are Luneta’s current shipping prices options, according to where you are based:

UK: £ 3.95 - Tracked 48 via Royal Mail (free on orders over £ 50!)

Europe: £ 10 - International Tracked Delivery via Royal Mail (free on orders over £150!)

Outside UK and EU: £ 13.10 - International Tracked Delivery via Royal Mail (free on orders over £150!)

We no longer offer untracked shipping, as this always causes a lot of headaches! With tracked information end to end, both you and I can be assured your Lunetas are on the way :)

3. I live in the UK. How long will it take to receive my order?

We use Royal Mail’s “Tracked 48” shipping, so it’d take 1-3 business days for making/handling + 2-3 business days shipping (between 3 and 6 business days in total).

4. I live outside the UK. How long will it take to receive my order?

We take 1-3 business days for making/handling your order. When making your purchase, you’ll have two delivery options: International Standard or International Tracked. Both take the same times (Europe: 3-5 business days, Rest of World: 6-7 business days), but we strongly recommend International Tracked so you can keep up with the delivery. In total, your international order might take between 4 and 10 business days. Please also note that customs fees might apply and they’re the customer’s full responsibility.

5. Do you accept returns?

Yes! We try our best to keep our customers happy. You can return your purchases up to 30 days upon receipt for a full refund (or exchange, when possible), as long as the items are in the same condition they were received in and in their original packaging. Unfortunately, this policy doesn’t apply to pierced earrings, unless you receive them damaged and send us a picture to prove it.

For hygiene reasons, earrings with an ear post or wire (i.e. the type for pierced ears) cannot be returned or exchanged unless they’re faulty. This does not affect your statatory rights. Clip on earrings, necklaces and bracelets can be returned even if not faulty, no questions asked.

If you’d like to return/exchange an item (any item if you receive it faulty, or any item that’s not an earring for pierced ears if you just want to return or exchange), simply email us at hi@lunetacreations.com so we’re aware and post back your items along with a note with your name, address, order number and whether you are returning or exchanging your items to:

Luneta
Unit 81769, Courier Point
13 Freeland Park, Wareham Road
Poole, Dorset
BH16 6FH
UK

Please use a Signed For/Tracked delivery service to ensure we receive your items and add the tracking number to the email you send us informing us of the desired return/exchange. If you ask for a refund, we will process it within 3 working days of receiving your return and you will receive an email to confirm your refund to the original payment method you used. If you ask for an exchange, we will also process it within 3 working days of receiving it, but please let us know by email what you’d like to exchange it for.

Unfortunately, as we’re a very small business, we aren’t able to pay for the return/exchange postage unless the item gets to you faulty.

6. My earrings/bracelet/necklace needs repairing. What can I do?

a. If an item is faulty upon receipt, please email hi@lunetacreations.com as soon as possible so we can work things out, including a photo so we can see the damage. Unfortunately, as our jewellery is made with vintage beads, this means we don’t have huge amounts of them. We run an end-to-end quality assurance of our pieces before posting them your way, but since this is a manual process, sometimes we overlook something or the item can be damaged during shipping.

If this unfortunately happens, we can repair or replace your jewellery (when possible) free of charge, besides providing a returns postage label up to £4.50 (UK) or £12.50 (international) and sending it back to you, also free of charge. You can also return a faulty item for a full refund within 30 days of receiving it, in which case we will provide a returns postage label.

Please note, we only pay for return postage if your item is damaged upon arrival. If you just wish to return it, please see conditions above in section 5.

b. If the item needs repairing due to mistreatment or accidental damage (e.g. falling on the floor), we’re still happy to try and repair it, but ask you to cover all postage costs + cost of any new materials. Please note, as mentioned above, that our beads are vintage and may no longer be available. Email hi@lunetacreations.com so we can discuss options :)

Check out our care tips further down in section 7 to learn how to best look after your Lunetas!

7. How do I take care of my Lunetas?

  • Store your Lunetas in the cute box they came in, or in your preferred jewellery box. Minimizing contact with air will ensure the metal bits stay shiny for longer!

  • Do not shower, exercise, go in a pool or into the ocean whilst wearing your jewellery.

  • Clean them gently with a damp cloth - don’t use abrasive products.

  • Avoid dropping your jewellery onto hard surfaces as the impact can weaken or break the piece. Do keep in mind that some of our beads are 100+ years old!

  • Metals are easily damaged by soap/creams/sprays/perfumes, so avoid using these in areas of contact with our jewellery.

8. I’m no longer that into my Lunetas. Is there anything you can do?

Yes! We have an end-of-life program thought out if you’ve changed your mind and would like to thoughtfully rehome your Lunetas. This program applies to products that: i) are no longer in the Returns window of 30 days since receipt, ii) are still in the Returns window of 30 days since receipt but have been worn. This is what you have to do:

  1. Customer gets in touch via email (hi@lunetacreations.com) about what item they'd like to send back

  2. Customer pays to send the item back to me via tracked delivery

  3. Once the package is received and matches the item, we send the customer a gift voucher for their next Luneta purchase. This gift voucher does not expire and will amount to either £5 off, if your design had originally cost less than £40, or £10 off, if it had originally cost more than £40

  4. I will either renew/repair the piece and offer them as pre-loved items to new customers, or take the piece apart and incorporate its vintage beads in new designs.

9. How sustainable is Luneta Creations?

Luneta is naturally more eco-friendly because we use pre-existing materials (vintage beads) to create our designs, preventing them from going to landfill and giving them new life! We also ship all orders using recyclable packaging and are Ecologi partners in effort to further offset our carbon footprint. We don’t overproduce (we create only unit of each design and only make more if the first one sells and the amount of beads allows) and are a 1-woman business ❤️ All this said, we’re always trying to find other ways to be better, so do get in touch if you have any ideas about how we can be more sustainable! If you’d like to read more about us and sustainability, go to this page :)

9. What payment methods do you accept?

We currently accept Paypal, Clearpay and most major credit and debit cards through Stripe payments.

10. How are Lunetas made?

The general process of a Luneta is:

1) Sourcing vintage necklaces to work with (or deadstock vintage beads)
2) Cleaning the vintage necklaces before I take them apart for beads (skip this step if it’s deadstock beads)
3) Dismantling the vintage necklaces and storing their beads individually (or just storing them if they were deadstock)
4) Sitting down with all my beads to create new designs, usually according to a general theme of a drop. I use new, quality gold-filled or sterling silver findings to make my designs, along with those cute, rare vintage beads 😊

11. Who makes Lunetas?

I (Marianna) make all pieces by hand at my home in London. Read more about me in our About page! The only exception to this is, of course, if you’re buying an original vintage piece, in which case it was made by someone else more than 20 years ago!

12. Are Lunetas made to order?

Yes! All our handmade jewellery is made to order. In the fortunate case I have enough of the same vintage beads to make more than one unit of a design, I still only make one of it - just so I can take pictures of it for our website/social media. I only make more of a design if the first one sells out and a second unit is purchased, or if I’m doing a real life market and hope more than one unit of something sells out :)

12. Do you offer gift-wrapping?

Absolutely! All our packaging is gift-ready and I’ll be more than happy to include a handwritten note if you’re shipping a gift directly to the receiver - just let me know what you’d like me to write in the “Gift Note” section of our check out page. I’ve even written gift notes in Polish!

For Christmas, I’m also offering a complimentary vintage Christmas-themed gift-wrap with any orders (except if you only purchase cards!) 🎄 This will go on until Christmas or while my stock of vintage labels and tags last.

13. Do you accept custom orders?

Yes! Email me at hi@lunetacreations.com with your dream jewellery and let’s make it happen sustainably, using vintage beads ❤️❤️❤️ You can also fill up the form here!
